Q. I’m getting married – what can I do for better skin, nails and hair?
A. Prep, prep, prep
Glowing, wedding photo-ready skin
Taking care of your skin in the lead up to a wedding is the best thing you can do to create a photo-ready glow. Cleansing well at night to remove makeup, and exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate to keep skin smooth and radiant. Once a week use the Mavala Skin Vitality Sleeping Mask ‘Baby Skin’ Radiance which gives skin an overnight glow – apply and leave on to amplify your beauty sleep.

On the day, use a natural looking full coverage foundation, applied with a brush or sponge for a sheer finish. Cover any redness or blemishes by blending in a concealer – use a water resistant one that will last all day and evening, and use it to also brighten under the eyes. A good Waterproof Mascara should also be in your wedding day makeup bag – avoid panda eyes and smudged mascara if there’s a tear or two.
A must-have for the wedding day is lip gloss, find a beautiful nourishing gloss-cream lip gloss with a rose tint and a touch of peach that suits your skin tone. A beautiful, natural gloss to lips is a great solution for everyone, from the bride, to mother of the bride to guests.
Nourished nails
In the prep before a wedding, pros agree that the best thing you can do for your nails is look after your cuticles. Keep them nourished and supple on a daily basis – it’s easy to get into the routine of putting cuticle oil or cream on your hands before you go to bed. Mavala Cuticle Oil is super moisturising with nourishing and softening sunflower oil, sweet almond oil and olive oil, and it’s free from formaldehyde, phthalates, sodium laureth sulfate and paraben.
For your wedding day, there are so many nail colours to choose from. Mavala Pale pinks like Arosa - a pale peachy pink, and Wichita, a baby pink have been the go-to wedding shades for so many brides. White or creamy hues like Izmir, Lotus and White Orchid are also popular choices.

Glossy hair
For glossy, nourished, natural coloured hair, you can’t go past Color & Soin permanent hair colour with natural ingredients that protects and preserves the hair structure. Prep a few months before the wedding to get the shade you like (there are 16 to choose from) and perfect your technique.
